'Workers should have right to request flexible working from first day in job'
A campaign is being launched to give people the right to request flexible working from the first day in a job, after research suggested divisions in how employees are treated.
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) said the shift to working at home because of the coronavirus crisis has exposed a lack of flexible working opportunities for some.
Its survey of more than 2,000 workers found almost half do not have flexible working arrangements such as flexi-time, part-time working, compressed hours or job shares.
